Life Lately

Everytime I get so behind with my posts I always post a "life lately" column to somehow pick up on where I left off. So, how are my favorite readers?
Geez, time flies soo fast it's scary! It's officially the start of Christmas countdowns on TV stations. And mind you, I have just updated my Spotify with Christmas songs. ;) Blame my festive soul.
Anyhoo, here's what's up lately:

1. I've had her for 2 months already and it's such a shame that it's only now that I get to introduce my love, the newest addition to the pack, Gene (jenny--my dad insisted we name her Genesis). She is the sweetest thing! My mom actually allowed me to sleep with Gene in my bed, beside me! So yeah I take advantage of her still small figure. Problem with the little thing is that she loves to bite. That's one thing we got to work on.

2. Here's me and Paul taking selfie shots right after his sister's pre-pageant. We just spent our 21st month with our mini staycation. I just love my 'ball paul' to bits. Thanks for taking care of me my love!

3. Pets galore!!! We went to a hidden paradise in Cavite weeks ago to take the mini dogs for a short swim. Sad Zooey wasn't able to tag along though. Excited for more adventures with our little buddies.

4. Oh and yeah you might have noticed. I got braces now. I actually don't like the feeling because it actually actually hurts like hell and I get mouth sores but I think this will actually do me good in the long run. I initially wanted Invisalign so the alignment of my teeth will be sort of invisible but it's too pricey. I'd rather travel than get those. So here I am, a brace-face officially.

The Good Thing In A World Gone Wrong

Work has been hellish (if there's such a term) for me lately that I always tend to get irritated a lot. When things are crazy at work, I'd rather listen to music and not speak at all. But amidst the riot world of SAP, I am lucky to have a good thing in a world gone wrong.
He's had his share of bad times at work as well but he never took it out on me. I actually feel bad right now because I feel that stress has taken its toll on me and I take it out on the people in my life. But you know what? He never made me feel it. He just kept on assuring me that he's always there for me no matter what happens, no matter how stressed I get and no matter how fucked up my work makes me feell (i hope my bosses don't get to see this HAHA). Ever since he came into my life, I always knew that what I have is a good thing, that the person I love is a keeper. Thank God for him! I hope everyone gets to have their 'good thing' as well. I guess there's nothing wrong with praying and wishing that one day, not a single person will ever experience on not being loved. Because in this world full wrongs, loving and being loved in return is one of the best things to ever happen that not even material things can replace.

P.S. The pictures below are from our Boracay trip that took place exactly a year ago. Oh I'm just so excited for our next getaway! ♡

21 Signs You Have A Great Boyfriend

A friend of mine shared this post on her Facebook page and it really brought a big smile on my face. And one person popped into my head as I read points 1 to 21... This one's definitely worth sharing.

1. He is your number one fan. He is the first one to congratulate you when you passed all your subjects. He makes the layout of your tarpaulin when you were awarded as cum laude. He delivers the news to everyone when you win a certain contest. He may not carry cheerleading pompoms, but you he makes you feel that you are a superstar.

2. Even during your losing moments, he will still be very proud of you. He will cheer you up and tell you you’re still the best even though you failed to achieve an award you were aiming for or got defeated on a competition. Even if you feel like a pathetic loser, he will make you feel like a winner.

3. He does not fail to text and call you. Whether they are “good morning” and “good night” messages, or a regular reminder for you to eat your breakfast, dinner and lunch. Also, he texts/calls you even though he is with his friends. It may not be like your usual exchange of texts or length of conversations, but then he will make it a point to update you about how he is.

4. You seem to have a personal doctor. He knows your health conditions and restrictions. He has also memorized the medicine or whatever you need to take when you feel sick. And when you do, he takes care of you. But even if he is not beside you, you will still feel his care and he will always wish that you get well soon.

5. He hates it whenever you cry. He feels really terrible. He feels like he is the worst guy on the world. And he will do everything just to wipe away the tears on your eyes.

6. A bird? A plane? Superman? No. He is just your guy. He is your unmasked superhero, your angel in disguise. When someone does something wrong to you or terribly hurts your feelings, the bitch mode in him suddenly switches on.

7. He does not get angry with you when you are too busy. He understands well the nature of your work, he cheers you up when you feel so damn tired and when it is possible, he gives you a helping hand to make your tasks easier.

8. Inspiration—he gives you so much of this. Whenever thoughts of giving up on your dream bothers you, just thinking of him will make you want to aspire and strive further.

9. He is your biggest support system. He makes you feel good when you feel so nervous the day before your thesis defense. He gives the comfort you need whenever you feel like the world is against you. He takes you somewhere when you feel bad. No matter how hard the problems you are facing, he will convince you that you are strong enough and you can do it.

10. Religion is never a BIG issue between the two of you. Yes, you may argue about it a little or it may ignite ‘mild’ hard feelings, but then it only comes once in a blue moon. Also, it has never put your relationship at stake because you understand each other.

11. He trusts you and he assures you that you can trust him too. You cannot deny that both of you get jealous at times, but at the end of the day, you still know that you are his only one. No matter how many girls admire him, you are confident that they can never take him away from you.

12. He never gets tired of telling you how much he loves you. He doesn’t just tell you it every day, but every hour if possible.

13. Actions speak louder for him too. He does not just say that he loves you, he shows it. He holds your hand, brushes your hair, massages you, hugs you, kisses you, puts his hand on your shoulder, brings you home, buys you food, and every little thing he can do just to make you feel loved.

14. You do not feel ‘required’ to give him gifts every time it is your monthsary/anniversary. Yes, you really love giving him presents and he appreciates that, but then, if you really cannot, it does not matter with him.

15. He makes you feel beautiful. He tells you how cute you are and how his thoughts about how your new dress suits you perfectly. You may not be the hottest chick in the campus or the one with the prettiest face, but then in his eyes, no one can exceed your loveliness.

16. You feel safe around him. You used to hate going to malls or other places, or going home late at night because you are overly paranoid that there are ‘bad guys’ around. But then, when he is with you, you are carefree and you feel guarded because you know he protects you.

17. You have fights and conflicts every now and then but it has never become unhealthy or toxic for you. You learn to forgive and accept everything about him. And the best thing is that, it makes your relationship grow much stronger.

18. He shares his dreams with you. He tells you if he wants to take up Law or if he wants to enroll at a film school someday. He also lets you know his dream place to live in and the list of the destinations he wants to travel to. Somehow, this makes you feel a part of his future.

19. He believes in forever with you. He wants you to be the girl he will marry when he reaches the age of 24 or 25. He will do everything just to keep you in his life.

20. You become a better person through him. No matter what kind of person you were, you feel like he has brought out all the best in you. He does not change the way you are. You are still the same person as you were when he met you, you have only become more amazing and a whole lot tougher.

21. He effortlessly makes you love him more every day. You are happy and contented with whatever you have as a pair. You know that your relationship has its own flaws and can never be perfect, but who cares anyway? You love each other so much and it is the most important thing for both of you. Also, you can even think of a lot more to add on this list because he is just too awesome for you. (Just as I do, though I only chose the ones that I think are the best.)

Donate Your Hair

Ever since I could remember, I've always had long hair. I loved it even though I know it's tired of everything I'm doing to it. I love styling it but I always make sure that it's still well taken care of.

A couple weeks back, my friends were pretty much surprised when I posed a picture of my new hair.
A shorter one definitely.
They immediately asked me if I was heartbroken as if that's the only acceptable reason for cutting my hair this short. Anyways, the real reason? I donated it. My coworker, Irish, told me that they were planning to donate their hair and after countless nights of thinking it over and asking people around if short hair would suit me, I gave it a go.

So where will my hair go? I suggest you visit this link if you want further information. But to give an overview, the donations will go to the cancer patients who will be needing it as the organization will do the magic and transform our donated hair to wigs. Isn't that sweet? Our warrior friends who are in need will definitely be very happy! Donate your locks. You know change is good when that change can benefit others.

Xo,

Ellie

Time Is Of The Essence

With the kind of personality I have (crazy, really overbearing and moody), one can say that the people who can actually accept me for who I am are gold. Thankfully, I have a treasure chest and I am truly grateful and thankful for every gem in it.
Lately, I have realized that what makes me happy the most is not when I'm given things or money. I mean, don't get me wrong, who does not get happy when you receive those stuff that I mentioned but what I mean here is real happiness. And for me, that's time. Cliche, yes. But I actually am very happy whenever someone decides to spend time with me. They could do something with that 1 hour but then, they decided to have coffee with me. They could ask anyone to go and get water with them in pantry, but instead they asked me. My point is, if you're given time by someone, they're giving you a part of their life that they could never get back.
The reason I made this a topic is because I used to be like a monocular. I focus on one thing and my world just revolves around it. But just recently, I had a good talk with a very good friend and my friend made me realize my mistake with the time I have in my hands. Whatever we talked about will always remain in me and as always, has changed me for the better. (Thank you)
So you... waste your time wisely. The time you spend with your boyfriend/girlfriend is just as important as the time you spend with your family and your friends. Balance it. Do the math. Be happy.
Does time make you happy too? Make time for the people you love and see good results.

19 Months

Yes I still owe you guys that blog post on why I had my hair cut short but I have to get that one sorted first. Right now, I'm blogging about how Paul and I celebrated our 19th month together.
As cliche as it may sound, yes... we do celebrate month-saries and sometimes, we overdo celebrations just because we can. ;)

So for our 19th...we pretty much did a lot!
We went to UP Diliman just to satisfy our 'isaw' cravings. When we crave, we just got to do everything to satisfy our cravings! We didn't even care if it rained that day. Off to Peyups we went.
Mang Larry's Isawan is a famous spot in the campus. Our timing was perfect since there weren't too many people at that time.

Oh yes, all of those sticks were devoured by just Paul and me! *evil laugh*

After UP, we went to our favorite salon and treated ourselves with footspa, pedicure and manicure (only me). It was so relaxing and of course, with all the stress from work, I truly think it was well deserved.

I went for a daring purple shade for my hands and dark red for my feet. After our relaxing activity, Paul took me to this Pares house that's quite famous for the quality of their pares. Oh boy! It instantly became my favorite! It was by far the best tasting pares I've ever had.
We already did a lot but it still wasn't the end of it! Paul had this crazy idea of us watching the last full show of the horror movie 'Deliver Us From Evil'. I freaked out but I went with it anyway.
It was such a busy day and when it ended, we were just so tired and slept like babies.
It's always a good time when I'm with the love of my life and I'm just so blessed to be with someone like him...forever. ♡
