It's been a while since I last posted an entry here and you could probably guess my reason...yes I'm really busy. But anyhoo, your restless yuppie right here went to Cebu last week for work (well, initially). Why? You'll find out.
I've worked with our Cebu team for quite sometime already. I joined AM Finance last February and immediately connected with our Cebu peeps because I'm also a 'bisaya' and it's easier for us to talk. They're really fun to work with given that I haven't seen them is flesh yet.
Last November 26, me and four other co-workers went to Cebu to work with the team and get the environment feel while working there. But before we left, my ever sweet boyfriend Paul treated me for lunch and even went to the office to bid me goodbye. I was missing this one the entire time!

We reached Cebu very early in the morning and fortunately, the hotel allowed us to check in even if it's earlier than planned. We then went to our Cebu office in IT park to invite our night shifters for breakfast. Gerson, one of my Manila colleagues craved for this famous siomai that's just within the vicinity. This was our first meal in Cebu and I wouldn't change it if I could. It was super yummy!
We ate it with puso (hanging rice?), some barbecue and ice-cold buko juice! How's that for a first meal? Well, we were knocked-out in our beds after that.
We were able to meet more of the team when we went to the office at around 3pm (that's usually the start of our shift) and even if it's just the first time we saw one another, that didn't become a reason for us not to be really really talkative. We even got so comfortable that we took selfies in the office...and in the elevator!
As much as I want this post to be really detailed, I wouldn't take the pain of talking about work in here so just FYI, we did work there but you know what? It didn't seem like it. The people were so warm and work was not being a bitch. But if I have to name my favorite realization while in Cebu that would be taking lunch breaks the way they are supposed to be taken. Lol. Most of the time you get so preoccupied with work that taking a break could be optional. But not in Cebu. And I love it!
Another reason to blame is the super good food that could really entice you to eat moorree!
Cebu = food, atleast that's how I see it. Lol! Our manager, Boss Gef took us to a Japanese place called Joed's Lutong Hapon on our second day and their food was heaven in my mouth! I suddenly wanted Maki now. Lol.
But seriously, if you guys get to go to Cebu, PLEASE visit this place and do yourselves a favor, order this heavenly maki.
We also got to try the ever famous Casa Verde's Ribs which I wasn't able to finish eating (a single serving is good for 3 not-so-hungry or 2 really hungry people). And the price? Very very affordable as compared to their branch in Manila.
Another food I got to taste again was this lumpia-like food called Ngohiong. I used to eat this when we were still in Dipolog and I was so happy I was able to find one in Cebu that tastes exactly like the one I used to eat.
You're probably thinking I'm all for food and though it's partly true, we actually had other activities aside from eating. Our Cebu team were super kind to actually show us around the city. They cleared whatever they had to do during that weekend and gave us their time. They're such sweet people! It makes me miss them more. (Insert awwww here)
They took us Karting...
We played Laser Tag...
We went Karaoke-ing and played Kinect...
We went extreme with Sky Experience Adventure...
We ate a feast and went jamming on a Sunday in Atts' humble abode...
We went partying Casino Royale style...
We were in Cebu for just 6 days and there was not a day that we consider dull. In fact, it was full packed of awesomeness! Aside from the activities I mentioned above, I was really happy that I was able to squeeze in some time with my relatives living in the city. I was able to catch up with my cousin Kendra and my aunts Marichue and Maribel. I can't wait for our Grand Reunion this coming April 2015!
Cebu...you're incredible! To our Cebu team, you guys are much much more incredible!
You are Cebu and our bond indeed made our stay worth the while. Thank you for your time and for the efforts wherein you actually didn't know that we know how much you guys tried to give us the best while we are in your territory. It is very much appreciated and we will forever remember it!
Until next time guys!
Xoxo,
Ellie
Just by reading your blog makes me miss the place and the people more!
